It Doesn't Matter If You're Black Or White -- Unless You're A TV Anchor
Seems to be TV anchor week here on The Editorialiste!
I just caught this story on the AP wire, and it's pretty amazing: Detroit TV anchor Lee Thomas uses creams and makeup to cover up the effects of vitiligo, a skin disorder than destroys skin pigment, turning black to white. (Yes, it's what Michael Jackson has.)
It's not news for viewers in Detroit, who have been watching Thomas for years. But contrary to the previous post, it may be the only reason that a TV anchor can reasonably expect to be, and not report on, the story.
